		<description>I love reading books and turning the pages. I thought the same as you about moving away from books when I got an iPad at the end of last year. I re-read a favourite of mine The Count of Monte Cristo (free classic) on it. It was a much better experience that I thought. The white on black option meant that I could read in bed without the lights off when my husband was asleep next to me. The book itself is large and cumbersome so the iPad was much easier to carry around and a multiple use/app device too. I have never met anyone who regrets having a Kindle. My mother in law loves hers.

I love books but don&#039;t think it will be long before I am used to reading from a device. But I do think I will miss looking at my favourites on a bookshelf or going into Waterstones for a browse.</description>

		<description>I agree, I hate the damn things. I see no point in them whatsoever and would love to know what educational value they have apart from telling the class what you, the teacher, are expecting them &#039;to learn or to have learned&#039; by the end of a lesson. I don&#039;t like to be told that I have to enforce learning on my students but that is what a learning objective does. It doesn&#039;t prepare students for the lesson but merely removes the mystery. More often than not, I never write an objective on the board or display on the screen. We site, we discuss, we think what it is we want to get from the lesson. We work together on what we consider important for each other, some children create their own objective to work towards based on previous learning or a previous lesson. They use feedback I&#039;ve given them as part of this basis for learning. If we were to use individual targets and objectives for each learner in the class, then a board would be filled pretty quickly. 
So away with the objectives and bring back the mystery and delight of learning, of finding out for ourselves and discovering something we never knew before.&#039;</description>

Could you instead provide a weekly email with a link to just one item on the website? With the idea that they will discover other content while they are there?</description>
