Below are ten ‘wireframes’ of incredibly popular websites. Wireframes are sketch plans of website/app/program designs, and I used the brilliant Balsamiq Mock-ups to make these. These are the UK versions of the sites, and are the front page or login pages as appropriate. How many can you name?

Answers below…
Website One: MSN Live – for CV-unfriendly, spam-filled, advert smothered email fans
Website Two: Google. Course it was here.
Website Three: Twitter.
Website Four: Facebook. Count those boxes!
Website Five: BBC. Too…much…content…
Website Six: Wikipedia. Texual Overdose
Website Seven: eBay. Yum.
Website Eight: Amazon. Oh, it’s *Amazon* who sell Kindles!
Website Nine: Yahoo. I was dreading the wireframe of this. With good reason.
Website Ten: YouTube – far more different than I remember it being.

This was fun to play!
Great stuff. Harder than I thought considering how popular those sites are. Some of those sites have changed dramatically.
Thanks! It surprised me how different they were to how I ‘remembered’ them to be like.
Managed to get 3: Google, Youtube and Amazon. Very tricky – guess I don’t pay as much attention as I should. Fooled by the pretty lights. 8)
I totally agree. I think that only Google and eBay seem to be fairly consistent!
